Seems August is the month for milestones at Tridium. On August 12th, Niagara surpassed 200,000 instances worldwide, a truly extraordinary milestone. Today at 12:04 PM, our very own James Johnson, who most of you know, posted his 1001st customer assistance posting on the Forum on Niagara Central. This also is an amazing milestone and achievement that is worthy of more than five stars, how about ten * * * * * * * * * *

I was blown away to learn that sometime this month, the 5 billionth device will plug into the Internet. And in 10 years, that number will grow by more than a factor of four. That's over 20 billion Internet devices, a mind boggling number indeed.

Early this morning, the Niagara Framework counter on Tridium.com hit 200,000. It's a big milestone for us. Bak when I first started with Tridium in early 2004, we stood at about 20,000 instances. It took 4 years to hit 100K and then a little over 2 years to double that. That's a great rate of acceptance in the marketplace.

Last night (Sunday, July 18), the CBS Evening News featured the MedCottage by N2Care. The MedCottage is a small housing structure that can be placed in a back yard where an elderly family member can reside and be monitored. It's an option for care givers where the senior can reside with family yet maintain a sense of independence. It provides an option to living in a senior care environment.

The Niagara Plugin 7.1.4 now supports Eclipse 3.6 Helios!

The 2010 Niagara Summit is now in the history books and I'm still trying to catch up from the days many of us spend in Las Vegas.

A feature missing from oBIX is the ability to query an oBIX Server. After all, this is typically one of the first items on an oBIX developer's agenda.

Firstly, I'd like to say how great it was to see everyone at the Niagara Summit. One piece of feedback I got loud and clear is that we should try blogging more often. Therefore, I'm following up my Session with a series of blog articles relating to creating Appliances.
